A big thank you to everyone who helped us make our
eighth Annual Quiz our most successful one yet!
Attended by almost 500 guests, we set a new
fundraising record, raising over $53,000
for the Centre’s vital casework and healthcare programs.
The North Sydney Leagues Club ‘Celebrity Room’ was packed to full
capacity and we would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and generously
provided prizes.
Magic duo, HG Nelson and Julian Morrow, hosted the
event combining their sharp humour with their strong knowledge on asylum seeker
issues to present an informative yet fun-filled night. ASC Director, Prabha Gulati, addressed the room about the Centre’s
services and its current funding crisis. Former ASC client, Jorge Heneo, shared
his personal experiences as an asylum seeker and spoke of what the Centre meant
to him when he first arrived in Australia.
The popular 60s theme inspired a room full of hippies, rock stars and Twiggys. Guests were challenged with a number of 1960s era questions, and enjoyed several 60s themed fun(d)raisers including ‘Name the Beatles song’ and a competitive ‘Twist Off.’
