ASC Urgent Appeal Can you help us keep our doors open? We recently started a campaign to raise $150,000 by the end of June to save the Centre from shutting its doors and leaving vulnerabl asylum seekers without the vital support they can only get from us.
We have now raised over $100,000 through the collective efforts of our supporters. This will allow us to continue our services for another few months - but our efforts to fundraise must continue. The Asylum Seekers Centre of NSW is the only one of its kind in NSW - providing asylum seekers with crisis support to address homelessness, health issues, legal guidance and even food. Many of those who support are almost entirely reliant on the services we provide. Yet the vital and unique service we provide is now under threat - due to the increasing need and the tougher funding environment. The Centre currently receives no Federal or State Governmnt funding. Our services can only continue through the support of the community. $80 will allow a caseworker to organise emergency accommodation for 3 families $140 will provide one week of English language lessons to 30 asylum seekers $320 will provide on-site medical support for 6 asylum seekers $1,000 will provide job readiness training for up to 10 asylum seekers each fortnight Please help us continue supporting asylum seekers seeking protection and a new life in Australia.
