The Asylum Seekers Centre of NSW (ASC) receives no government funding. We rely upon philanthropic support and public donations to sustain our operations. All financial donations to ASC will be used to support our provision of services to asylum seekers. There are also, however, a number of ways in which you can provide direct material assistance to our clients. If you are able to donate any of the items listed below, please deliver them (Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm) or send them to us at 38 Nobbs Street Surry Hills NSW 2010.
Due to spatial constraints, we are unable to accept donations of clothes or other items at this time. As we refer many of our clients who are needing such items to the St Vincent de Paul Society shop on Crown Street, Surry Hills, you may wish to donate to that outlet.
If you are a doctor or work for a pharmaceutical company, you may wish to donate pharmaceutical samples or clinical supplies to our on-site health clinic . Please call (02) 9361 5606 on a Monday or Tuesday and ask to speak with the Health Care Program Coordinator to discuss arrangements. (We are unable to accept pharmaceuticals from the general public.) |

Thank you for your interest in learning about the many ways in which you can support our humanitarian work with asylum seekers. Despite living lawfully in the community, the vast majority of the asylum seekers who approach our service for support hold bridging visas which render them work, Centrelink and Medicare ineligible. As a result, most are utterly reliant upon charities and community supporters to meet their basic subsistence needs.
